After breakfast, drive to visit Buddha Dordenma, located atop a hill in Kuenselphodrang Nature Park, housing the largest statue of sitting Buddha (51.5m) in Bhutan . Visit the Takin Preserve to see Bhutan’s National animal Takin. Proceed to Sangaygang view point offering a magnificent view of Thimphu valley. Drive pass the King's Memorial Chorten, the stupa built in memory of Bhutan’s Third King, popularly regarded as Father of modern Bhutan. After lunch, visit to Trashichhoe Dzong: It is the center of government and religion, site of monarch’s throne room and seat of Je Khenpo or Chief Abbot. Built in 1641 by the political and religious unifier of Bhutan. Evening time can be spent strolling through Thimphu city centre, local market and local crafts bazaar, to browse through example of Bhutan's fine traditional arts. Here you can buy hand-woven textiles, Thangkha paintings, masks, ceramics, slate and wood carvings, jewellery, interesting items made from local materials. After buffet breakfast, checkout and drive to Punakha. En-route halts at Dochula Pass. Here we can have a look and admire the Chorten, Mani wall, and prayer flags which decorate the highest point on the road. After lunch, visit the Punakha Dzong. Situated near the two rivers - the Pho Chu (Male River) and Mo Chu (Female River), the Punakha Dzong is one of the largest Dzongs in Bhutan. Later visit the Suspension bridge that sounds breathtaking! The Punakha Suspension Bridge in Bhutan seems like an incredible experience, especially with its stunning mountain views and adorned with prayer flags. Walking across a bridge that spans over 160 meters above the Po Chhu River must be quite exhilarating. Check in and overnight at the Hotel. After breakfast check out and drive to Paro, follow the way back up the dramatic Wang Chhu and Paro Chhu river valleys, before crossing through Paro Town towards the north end of the valley. Post Lunch; proceed to visit Ta Dzong, originally built as Watchtower, which now houses National Museum. The extensive collection includes antique Thangkha paintings, textiles, weapons & armour, household objects and a rich assortment of natural and historic artifacts. Overnight at the hotel in Paro. After breakfast, proceed for local Paro sightseeing : Drukgyel Dzong, a recently restored fortress where Bhutanese warriors fought Tibetan invaders centuries ago. The snowy dome of sacred Chomolhari, ""mountain of goddess'' can be seen in all her glory from the approach road to the Dzong. On the way, visit the 7th century Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the 108 temples built in the Himalayas by Tibetan King, Songtsen Gampo. The building of this temple marks the introduction of Buddhism in Bhutan. Walk down the trail to visit Rinpung Dzong, meaning (“fortress of the heap of jewels”), which has a long and fascinating history. Along the wooden galleries lining the inner courtyard are fine wall paintings illustrating Buddhist lore such as four friends, the old man of long life, the wheel of life, scenes from the life of Milarepa, Mount. Sumeru and other cosmic Mandala. Those who do not wish to join for the above local sightseeing, we offer you the Excursion to Taktshang Monastery aka Tiger’s Nest Trek (Approx 6 Hours Walk). It is one of the most famous of Bhutan’s monasteries, perched on the side of a cliff 900m above the Paro valley floor. Legends say that Guru Rinpoche arrived here on the back of a tigress and meditated at this monastery and hence it is called ‘Tiger’s Nest’. Overnight at the hotel in Paro. After early breakfast at the hotel, drive to the airport for flight to your onward destination. Our representative will help you with exit formalities and then bid you farewell.
